Terms for Conflict Resolution

 
1) The issue is to be raised directly and clearly identified as either a controversy or claim
 
2) A time will be negotiated for the parties involved to sit with each other and identify the concerns of the controversy or claim. (within 48 hours of occurrence)
 
3) At the time set, both parties will meet face to face

The party initiating the controversy or claim will:

A) Identify the level of emotional seriousness which they feel about the situation
B) State the particulars involved in the situation

The other party involved will:

A) Listen and mirror what they hear from the first party
B) The first party will confirm that what is being mirrored by the second party is accurate

The second party will then:

A) Identify the level of emotional seriousness which they feel about the situation
B) State the particulars they perceive as being involved in the situation
The first party involved will listen and mirror what they hear from the second party
The second party will confirm that what is being mirrored by the first party is accurate
At this point a time-out of no more than 24 hours may be negotiated
The next step will be that both parties will each identify a set of at least three solution options they perceive as satisfactorily addressing the situation
A) The options are to be specific and concrete
B) Able to be assessed as being done by any outsider
The parties are responsible for identifying a selection of options of which any one would be satisfying if selected by the other party
The parties are to again sit down with one another and share these options. At this point a timeout of no more than 24 hours may be negotiated
After the time-out, both parties are to sit with one another. If there has been modifications to the least of options they may be identified. Each party is then to choose one option and is responsible for implementing the option.
 
4) Should the above process fail to satisfactorily address the controversy or claim, then the party holding the controversy or claim should put their concern into writing

The writing would:

A) identify the degree of emotional seriousness of the situation
B) clearly list the particulars involved
C) identify three options (these options and all others should be as described above)

The receiver of the letter shall:

A) respond in writing
B) indicate the degree of emotional seriousness of the situation
C) clearly list the particulars involved as perceived by them, referencing specific feedback to the particulars raised by the first party
D) and submit to the first party at least three options
The first party shall consider those options and select one
 
The first party shall implement this option
